Class Teacher - Ms L O'Brien.

Welcome to the Clownfish class.

We hope you have had a lovely Christmas and wish you a happy new year!

We have lots of exciting learning opportunities planned for Term 3.

In English, we are going to be reading the texts ‘Toby and the Great Fire of London’ and ‘The Naughty Bus’. In maths, we will be adding and subtracting within 20 and working on place value within 50.

In History, we will be learning about The Great Fire of London and in Geography, we will be learning about seasonal and daily weather patterns. We will also be comparing the city of London to where we live.

In Science, we will be continuing to work scientifically by examining seasonal changes and looking at how our world changes environmentally. We will also be focusing on materials. In Religious Education, we will be learning about what Muslims learn about Allah and their faith through the Qu’ran. In Computing, we will be working on media and digital painting.

In Music, we will be performing the song, ‘In the Groove’ and in Design and Technology, we will be working on templates and joining techniques.  In Art and Design, we will be studying the work of Mondrian. In PSHE, we will be considering our Dreams and Goals and how we can persevere to achieve what we set out to do.

In PE, we will be doing gymnastics and dance. This term, PE will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays so please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days and if they wear earrings that these are removed.

Please ensure your child brings their homework bag to school every day. Reading books will be changed every Tuesday and Thursday. Don’t forget to write in their reading journal so we can see when they have read with you. Your child will choose a new choosey book on a Friday for you to read to them. We will also be setting some homework on Teams.

If you have any questions, please speak to a member of staff when dropping off or collecting your child.

Thank you for your continued support with your child’s learning.
