Admissions to the Mablethorpe Primary Academy

The Mablethorpe Primary Academy provides for the needs of children within the 3 to 11 age range who live in Mablethorpe and the surrounding area.

Pupils will be admitted at the age of 3+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria set out in this policy. Admission to our Academy is not dependent on any ‘voluntary’ contribution.

The Academy participates in the Local Authority co-ordinated scheme and all deadlines within that should be adhered to by applicants.

Admission Numbers

60 for pupils in Reception Year

For admissions to Reception for September 2018, parents should apply using the Lincolnshire County Council’s Admission process. Applications forms must be completed and returned direct to the County Council.

Appeals

There is right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above. Appeals should be made, in writing to the Academy, within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal.

Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
