Jellyfish
Class Teacher - Mrs L Horan.
Welcome to the Jellyfish class.
Welcome back to Term 6 Jellyfish!
We hope you have all had a lovely half term break!
Our enquiry question for this term is, How have sea sides changed and how has this affected us? English will have strong links to our enquiry question and we will explore a fiction and non fiction text throughout the term that has a theme to the sea and how changes are effecting us. Children will be developing their writing through a recount, persuasive letter and narrative linked to the books over the term.
In maths we will cover a range of topics including fractions, time and word problems. If children can continue to access TT rock stars at home to support their multiplication and division. I will continue to send the sheets home as well with homework and we will continue focussing on the 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables.
Let’s be Geographers! Exploring the similarities and differences between Mablethorpe, the United Kingdom and Shanghai. We will learn about the continents and use mapping skills to locate these.
Science will be exploring living things and their habitats. We will identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other.
Art will have links to science and we will use a range of materials to design flowers, explore colour and texture, draw paint and sculpt and use our imagination in order to create a 2D and 3D flower.
Please remember to send children’s book bags into school when they have read and record this in their diaries so that they can complete the quiz. We thank you for all your support with children’s reading at home and completion of homework as it is having a positive impact on their learning and progress in school.
Please send children in their PE kits this term on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please can we make sure that children come in suitable footwear and kit on both days. Uniform policy can be found and accessed on the website.
We look forward to another fun filled term with you all,
Mrs Horan and the Jellyfish team!
