Jellyfish
Class Teacher - Mrs L Horan.
Welcome to the Jellyfish class.
Welcome back to Term 5 Jellyfish!
We hope you have all had a lovely Easter!
Our enquiry question for this term is, what nature can be found in our local area?
In English we will be exploring the wonderful story of the magic faraway tree and being creative in our writing through a narrative and character description. Children will be continuing their learning on multiplication and division and then starting the units for measuring and fractions in maths this term.
We will be Geographers and explore/create our own maps and revisit and identify human and physical features from aerial photographs.
Science will have strong links to our enquiry question and we will be working scientifically to answer questions about plants and what they need to grow. We are very excited to identify the plants and trees around school and the local area and also planting and growing our own plants, collecting data and recording our findings.
Art will have links to science and we will use a range of materials to design flowers, explore colour and texture, draw paint and sculpt and use our imagination in order to create a 2D and 3D flower.
Please remember to send children’s book bags into school when they have read and record this in their diaries so that they can complete the quiz. We thank you for all your support with children’s reading at home and completion of homework as it is having a positive impact on their learning and progress in school.
Please send children in their PE kits this term on a Monday and Thursday.
We look forward to another fun filled term with you all,
Mrs Horan and the Jellyfish team!
