Class Teacher - Mrs L Staniland.

                                     Welcome to the Jellyfish class.

This page will give you all the information you need about what is happening in our class, such as PE days, homework, trips, events and the areas that we will be learning about during the term.

We hope you have all had a wonderful summer!

This term our topic focus is Carnivals! In English, our fiction books are ‘Jump Up’ and ‘Charlie’s Magical Carnival’. We will also be accessing a range of non-fiction books about Carnivals, which will thread through our curriculum.  In Maths, we will be using numbers up to 100, working on place value and addition and subtraction.

In Science, we are looking at Animals including Humans and in Religion and World Views, we are learning about Islam and how Muslims are taught to treat each other based on readings from the Qu’ran. Our History and Geography lessons stem from the Carnivals topic. We will be looking at the history of carnivals in Mablethorpe as well as comparing them to Carnivals in other Countries.  In PSHE, children will work on Being Me in My World, in which pupils will discuss their hopes and fears for the year, their role and responsibilities withing the class and we will create a class charter from the group’s ideas.

In Design and Technology, we will be working with wheels and axles. We will design, make and evaluate a Carnival float based on special places.

Our PE days will be Wednesdays and Thursdays in which the children will work on balls skills and team games. Please make sure your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days! If your child wears earrings, please ensure they are removed or covered with plasters on PE days so they can take part safely.

We are so excited about our learning this term and look forward to visiting the library to support this!

If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to a member of staff from Jellyfish, at the end of the school day!
