An Introduction to Tapestry for EYFS parents

Welcome to the Starfish class.

We hope you've had a lovely time over the Easter holidays and you're looking forward to some warmer and brighter weather!

This term our topic is Rhyme Time! We will be focusing on the author Julia Donaldson reading two of her books, The Gruffalo and Snail and the Whale. The children will look at rhyming words and begin to think of their own rhyming string. We will be looking at a particular artist this term and creating our own illustrations of a character. We will be baking our own bread this term too.

In maths we will be focusing on, to 20 and beyond. The children will be looking at numbers above 20, counting patterns. They will begin adding and subtracting numbers. They will also learn about spatial awareness.

PE for both classes will be on Mondays, please bring your child in their PE kit.

Please make sure your child has a spare set of clothes including footwear in case they need it, especially with our outside area that can get quite messy.

Please keep reading with your children as much as you can, reading book bags need to be back on a Wednesday and we'll send them back out on a Friday. If you read with your child 5 times, they get to wear an amazing reading crown for the day on a Friday!

Thank you,

Mr Brocklebank, Miss Thompson, Miss Scott, Miss Phythian, Mrs Torrie, Miss Keeley and Miss Jeffcoat
