Personal Development

Welcome to the Personal Development at Mablethorpe Primary Academy section of the website.

At Mablethorpe Primary Academy, we believe that personal development is measured not by the number of opportunities we provide, but by the lasting impact they have on children's confidence, character, aspirations and understanding of the wider world.

As a coastal school, we recognise that some children face barriers to accessing experiences beyond their local community. Through our carefully planned personal development programme, we ensure that every child has opportunities to broaden their horizons, discover new interests and develop the skills needed for future success.

Our pupils benefit from a wide range of experiences including:

  • Educational visits and residentials
  • Sporting events and competitions
  • Arts and cultural experiences
  • Outdoor learning and environmental projects
  • School council and leadership opportunities
  • Charity and community events
  • Careers and life-skills learning
  • Visitors and workshops that enrich the curriculum

Impact

Our personal development offer is making a real difference to pupils and families.

Following a survey:

  • 82% were happy or very happy with the opportunities available to their child.
  • 96% agreed that their child enjoys trips, visitors and special experiences.
  • 84% reported that their child talks about these experiences at home.
  • 79% said experiences help their child learn new things.
  • 64% said opportunities help their child try new experiences.
  • 57% felt experiences improve their child's understanding of the wider world.
  • 46% identified increased confidence as a key benefit.

Parents regularly tell us that these experiences inspire their children, bring learning to life and create lasting memories.

Through ongoing pupil voice, parent feedback and participation monitoring, we continually evaluate and improve our provision to ensure every child leaves Mablethorpe as a confident, resilient and ambitious young person, ready for the next stage of their education and beyond.
