This term, the Whales class have lots to look forward to with a fun, creative, and engaging programme of learning across the curriculum.

In English, we will be exploring Grim Tales and Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Pupils will enjoy delving into dramatic settings, powerful characters, and exciting plot twists while learning how writers build atmosphere and tension. Using Macbeth as inspiration, children will create their own imaginative narratives. Alongside their writing, pupils will work together to rehearse and perform scenes, helping them to build confidence, teamwork, and expressive performance skills.

This term we will be starting to learn the script and performance of Macbeth ready for next term were we will be performance at the Embassy Theatre, where pupils will have the exciting opportunity to bring their learning to life on a real stage and proudly showcase their hard work and creativity.

In History, we will continue building on our World War II topic from last term, deepening pupils’ understanding of life during wartime. The class will take part in a library visit on 21st May, where pupils will explore books and resources to support and extend their WW2 learning. They will also enjoy a hands-on activity creating a miniature Anderson shelter, helping them to understand how people stayed safe during air raids. In addition, pupils will prepare and present a special VE Day assembly, learning why this important event is remembered and celebrated.

In PE, pupils will take part in two sessions each week:

· Tuesdays will focus on athletics, developing speed, stamina, and technique
