Class Teacher - Mrs L Hastings

Welcome to the Dolphins class.
Welcome back to Dolphins class. This page will give you all the information you need, such as PE days, homework, trips, events and the areas that we will be learning about during the term. We are thrilled to welcome all pupils back, ready for an exciting term ahead.
Welcome back We hope you have had a wonderful holiday and are ready for an exciting term ahead!
After working so hard in preparation for SATS and completing them with positivity and resilience, we are looking forward to an exciting and busy term ahead! Well done to everyone and congratulations!
· On Monday 6th July, we will be visiting the Lifewise Centre in Rotherham. This is a fantastic, scenario-based learning environment where children take part in realistic situations to develop important life skills. Pupils will work through a range of safety scenarios, encouraging them to think carefully and apply their problem-solving skills.
· On 18th June, we will be travelling to the Lincolnshire Show for a fun-filled day out!
· We have lots of brilliant activities planned for our wonderful Y6 leavers; please refer to the letter for more information.
· We are looking forward to planning, rehearsing and performing the Y6 play😊
In our lessons this half-term:
· English and Reading: We will study the text: The Final Year by Matt Goodfellow. Children will read and discuss the key themes, friendship, change, growing up and moving on, and will use drama to explore the characters’ thoughts and feelings. Children will apply their understanding to plan, draft and write a letter saying goodbye to primary school.
· Geography: Map Making – children will be designing a safe campsite using OS maps, symbols and keys before presenting our fieldwork findings in groups.
· Science: Can children explain the movement of the Earth and other planets in relation to the Sun? What are the different theories of the solar system and what planets and galaxies are in our solar system?
· Design & Technology: We will be learning about pulleys and gears.
· Art: Children will design and create their own 3D planets.
· PE: We continue our swimming lessons on Tuesdays and will be learning cricket skills. Please can earrings be left at home on these days.
Thank you for your continued support 😊
