Personal Social Health Education

Subject Coordinator - Mrs K Levitt

I am passionate about being PSHE Lead and am excited to explore the personal, social, health and economical curriculum with children.  I aim to give the children knowledge and understanding and life skills to lead on into independent life.

One of the biggest issues today is mental health and emotional wellbeing.  I believe children should know the importance of physical and mental change.  I would like to build their awareness by developing the skills, knowledge and resilience to be natural problem solvers so that children have a bank of techniques to help them forward into their adult lives.

Having a healthy school-home life balance, I have built a routine that improves my mental and emotional health.  The techniques I use are what I enjoy doing, which is reading, swimming and walking our dog.  We use the Jigsaw programme which children are loving taking part in in their PSHE lessons and have a broad and balanced curriculum which has our school values and personal development curriculum at the heart.

Through PSHE, pupils will learn how to express their feelings in order to develop good mental health and understand how to follow a healthy lifestyle to lead to good physical health.

We aim for our pupils to develop a sense of purpose, learn to work in a team and understand the importance of being part of the community.

PHSE for our children

‘I know how to keep myself happy, healthy and safe.’
